Olive Tree House
MOSMAN
Situated in beautiful Beauty Point with stunning views over Middle Harbour is this 5-bedroom family home.
Collaborating with architect, Victoria Aleporos, this project involved a comprehensive renovation of almost every part of the existing two-story residence with the addition of a third story guest quarters and rumpus room and extensive landscaping work by landscape architect Myles Baldwin.
Included in the renovation was an oversized Kitchen with butlers and lounge, an additional children’s bedroom, re design of all existing bedrooms and bathrooms, new boot room, wine cellar, guest room, bathroom and rumpus room.
Two Stories Interiors encapsulated the spirit of Sophie’s family with the furniture choices. "I wanted the house to be fun, hence the wallpapers in the bedrooms and powder room and the use of colour throughout."
From the moment you walk in the door you get a sense of this laid-back playful approach to life. A Mollettta’s peg-shaped bench in the entrance is nicely juxta positioned with a Marisa Purcell art work and an irregular patterned Jardan rug. Wall-mounted ceramic bees are a whimsical touch in the dining space. A sophisticated coastal palette runs through the living areas, but unexpected jolts of bright colour in the art, the pink rug in the dining room and sideboard keep it from getting too serious.
The layering of patterns and the cohesion of the subtle colour platter used throughout all contribute to the creation of a calm and enjoyable space.
